Day 1
Arrival in Vancouver
Pick up your Hertz full sized
car at Vancouver International Airport and follow the directions to the
BC Ferries Terminal and the inter-island voyage to Saltspring Island in
the Pacific Gulf Islands. Enroute, keep a lookout for the Orca Whales
that frequent the area. Waterfront accommodation has been reserved for
two nights.
Day 2
Exploring Saltspring Island *
Saltspring is the largest of
the Pacific Gulf Islands and hosts one of the Pacific Northwest’s largest
artist and craft communities. Visit the studios, the pristine lakes and
parks. Explore the local town of Ganges its excellent restaurants and
nightly entertainment. Overnight Saltspring Island.

Day 3
Saltspring Island to Strathcona Park
The ferry at Vesuvius Bay takes
you to Vancouver Island and the scenic Island Highway, north to Strathcona
Provincial Park. This spectacular setting of lakes, mountains and unspoilt
valleys is our stop for the night. Accommodation has been reserved for
two nights.
Day 4
Strathcona Park
A full day to enjoy any of the
many wellness programs offered at Strathcona Park Lodge. Everything from
guided nature walks through awe inspiring scenic areas to rock climbing
lessons and kayaking. Overnight Strathcona Lodge
Day 5
Strathcona Park to Gold River and the Uchuck lll to Zeballos
An early morning departure and
a short drive to Gold River takes you to the Government Dock, where the
M.V.Uchuck lll is ready for boarding. Protected parking is available for
your car. This 140 foot coastal service vessel will take us to the outside
coast where we will visit Kyuquot before arriving at the remote west coast
village of Zeballos. Accommodation has been reserved for two nights.
Day 6
Zeballos
At leisure. Zeballos is a kayakers
dream. The tranquil waters of Zeballos inlet are rich in sea life. Orca
and Gray whales are regular visitors, eagles and sea birds your constant
companions. Half day or full day trips up the inlet are easily arranged.
Or, visit nearby Port McNeil and take the ferry to Alert Bay to view the
First Nations Cultural Museum. Overnight Zeballos
Day 7
Zeballos to Campbell River
The Uchuck lll takes you back
to Gold River and your car. It is a short drive to Campbell River, ‘Mid-island
Central’. This attractive seaside town is the centre for rafting tours,
Grizzly bear excursions and coastal marine tours. Waterfront accommodation
is reserved for two nights.
Day 8
Campbell River
At leisure to explore the town,
visit the local museum or go white water rafting on the Nechako River.
An optional Grizzly bear excursion can be reserved at the time of making
a reservation for this vacation. Overnight Campbell River. Day Nine ~
Campbell River to Vancouver Following the ‘Old’ Island Highway scenic
route through Courtney and Qualicum Beach to Dukes Point Terminal. Return
to Vancouver via BC Ferries and return your car at Vancouver International
Airport to complete this vacation.
